Donna Ward

**Obituary for Donna Lee Ward**

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Lee Ward, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on September 12, 1938, in Hamilton, Ohio, Donna was a lifelong resident of Fairfield, where she embraced her role as a dedicated homemaker, pouring her love and energy into her family and community.

Donna was a proud supporter of her hometown teams, passionately cheering for the Cincinnati Reds and the Cincinnati Bengals, as well as rooting for The Ohio State Buckeyes. Her excitement for sports was only matched by her enthusiasm for playing cards, gardening, cooking, and baking. Known for her famous Skyline Chili copycat recipe and her delightful Buckeye candy, she always found joy in sharing her culinary creations with family and friends. She was also an avid collector of Precious Moments since 1986.

A woman of strong faith, Donna was deeply committed to her church, where she found purpose and friendship. Her loving spirit and selflessness touched the lives of many, and she was the cornerstone of her family, always putting their needs before her own.

Donna leaves behind her cherished children, son Jim (Dana) Ward and daughter Vicki Wheeler, along with her adored grandchildren: Adam (Nora) Ward, Lauren (David) Tajnai, and Jessica Wheeler. She was also a treasured great-grandmother to Clair, Nina, Ava, and Jordan. Donna also leaves behind her brothers, Tim Simpson and Rick Ratliff and numerous nieces and nephews.

To honor Donna’s remarkable life, a visitation will take place on February 1, 2025, at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 9:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM, which will be officiated by Pastor Mark Finfrock. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM at Arlington Memorial Gardens.

In this time of grief, we find solace in the love Donna shared and the countless memories we hold dear. She will be deeply missed but her spirit will live on in all of us.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband James Ward, and parents Ruth Ratliff and William Tieman as well as her sister JoAnn Ward.

Flowers in her memory are welcome. Memorial donations may also be made to American Diabetes Association or Lord of Life Lutheran Church located in West Chester, Ohio.
