Doris A. Hauer

september 16, 1925 – february 8, 2024

Doris A. Hauer

Doris Ann Hauer (Doe), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024, at the age of 98. Born on September 16, 1925, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Doris touched the lives of all those who knew her with her warm heart and radiant spirit.

Doris was a devoted homemaker.  She found joy in creating a loving and welcoming home for her family. She embraced the role of a caregiver and poured her heart into providing comfort and support to those she held dear.

One of Doris’s passions was golfing, where she displayed great skill and a competitive spirit. She treasured the time spent on the green, enjoying the camaraderie of her friends. Doris also had a penchant for sipping martinis, which she thoroughly enjoyed during social gatherings with family and friends.

Traveling to Europe brought immense pleasure to Doris’s life. She particularly loved spending winters in Florida, visiting friends and golfing.

Doris always had her nose buried in a book or magazine or working crossword puzzles. Doris marveled at the beauty of birds, observing their graceful flights and listening to their melodic songs brought her a sense of tranquility.

Doris’s love for flowers and roses was tangible as she meticulously nurtured her garden, creating vibrant, blooming displays. Doris enjoyed date nights with her grandsons, where they often went out to Sorrento’s, one of her favorite restaurants. She also had a love for hosting Derby parties, dressing up in fancy hats, and enjoying the excitement of the race with family and friends.

Doris is survived by her son, Dave (Kim) Miller, who cherishes the memories and life lessons she imparted on him. She was a doting grandmother to Adam (Charles Tracy), Dani (Nick Rizzi), Joanne (Russ), Erin (Mark), and a proud great-grandmother to Isabel, James, Ben, and Maddie. She also leaves to cherish her daughter-in-law, Chris Allen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lucille (nee Budd) Rodler, her two late husbands, Dale Miller and Dale Hauer, her son Doug Miller and her sister, Gladys Haupt.

To honor and celebrate the life of Doris Ann Hauer, a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 12:00 PM at the Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road, 45231 in the Garden of Trinity.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/donate  or Wounded Warrior Project https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/, as a tribute to Doris’s caring and compassionate nature.

Doris Ann Hauer will forever be remembered. As we bid farewell to our beloved Doris, let us carry her spirit within us and continue to find happiness and unity in the bonds we share with each other.

Rest in peace, dear Doris. Your light will forever shine bright in our hearts.
