Obituary via Hodapp Funeral Home

Edna Whaley passed from this life into eternity, without any apparent sickness or warning, on April 6th, 2024. She simply laid her head back during breakfast and woke up in glory.

Born January 7th, 1934, in the small community of Cooper, Ky, the 12th child of 14 to the late Willie & Myrtie Burgess, of Monticello, Ky. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Robert Whaley, Sr and 12 of her siblings. Survived by one sister Ruth (Ron) Konen, two children Paula (Jay) Heckathorn and Robert Whaley II, one grandson, Robert Whaley III and two step granddaughters, Jackie and Nina Heckathorn and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who will always cherish her as ”Sweet little Aunt Edna.”

She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and nurse, but most importantly she was a Godly Apostolic woman whose life revolved around her church. She loved the Lord with all of her heart, mind and soul and will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.
