Edward H. Schrantz Jr.

july 2, 1955 – december 1, 2024

Edward H. Schrantz Jr.

It is with a mix of sadness and joy that we announce the passing of Edward H. Schrantz Jr., who departed this life on December 1, 2024, at the age of 69. Born on July 2, 1955, in Cincinnati, OH, Ed was a lifelong resident of the area and a proud member of the community.

Ed dedicated his professional life to the construction industry, working as a general laborer for AMS Construction. He approached every project with passion, demonstrating the same work ethic he brought home to his beloved family. For 29 wonderful years, he shared his life with his beloved spouse, Mary Schrantz.

Ed was a true family man, cherishing every moment spent with his children, Chris, Jamie, his late son Eric, and Joey, and was a loving grandfather to his eight grandchildren: Travis, Ryan, Vincent, Alex, Emma, Eric, Cassidy, and Kaylee. Time with them was filled with laughter, stories, and the joy that only a grandparent can provide.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Alice Schrantz (nee Vest), and his son Eric Schrantz.

When he was not busy with family, Ed could often be found tinkering with cars, tending to his yard, or taking on home projects. A proud veteran of the Navy, Ed’s service is a testament to his dedication and commitment to those he loved.

To celebrate Ed’s life, a visitation will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 12:00 PM. A heartfelt memorial service will commence at 1:00 PM, where friends and family will have the opportunity to share joyful memories and honor the legacy he leaves behind.

As we gather to remember Ed, please come prepared to share laughter and stories that celebrate the incredible life he lived, the love he shared, and the lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege to know him.

“Daddy, I miss you so much. I still can’t believe your fight is over. You fought cancer for so many years, you are one of the strongest men I know. I know you are no longer in pain and that you are with eric but it breaks my heart being here without you and him. I love you to the moon and back and will always cherish the memories made. Emma loves her swingset grandpa made specially for her! Your grandsons are following in your footsteps with taking construction classes, even vince wants to be a truck driver now. You have made an impact on so many lives you will not be forgotten. RIP and I love you. I will see you again.”
