Elaine Belle Cole

March 14, 1938 – June 22, 2025

Elaine Belle Cole

Elaine Belle “Mimi” (Rockeman) Cole, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the Home at Hearthstone, Cincinnati, Ohio, on June 22, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on March 14, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Elaine was the cherished daughter of Lawrence and Ethel (Sweeney) Rockeman. She was preceded in death by her sisters Betty Hennegan, Marian Wessel, and Dorothy Ohmer.

Her family was the center of her universe and where she found her greatest happiness. She is survived by her three children: Karen (Stan) Westbrook, Debbie (Chris) Moning, and Marty (Lynn) Cole. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy: Jason (Erica) Holtman, Nick (Brooke) Westbrook, Matt (Kaitlin)

Westbrook, Jennifer (Dan) O’Brien, Zach Moning, Alex (Kyle) Robinson, Trevor Cole, Jonathon (Jennifer) Rapier and Justin (Corrie) Cole,as well as her twelve great-grandchildren: Breanna, Logan, Halie, Laney, Easton, Scarlett, Jodie, Ray, Lettie, Molly, James, and Andrew

Elaine’s life was one of adventure, filled with rich experiences that shaped her into the unique person she was. She lived briefly in Denver, Colorado, and Valdosta, Georgia, relishing the excitement these places offered. She loved the outdoors, particularly the beach, the Ohio River, creeks, and lakes, and she was always up for a ride in her convertible. Elaine had a special affinity for animals, especially horses, and was a talented artist who painted beautiful scenes with oils and watercolors, often inspired by her love of water and beach life.

Her career was as vibrant as her personality. She first worked for Cincinnati Bell as a switchboard operator connecting calls manually by plugging and unplugging cords on large switchboards. From 1972 to 1977, she worked with Paramount Pictures as a liaison, where her travels took her to the studios in Hollywood, allowing her to meet iconic stars like Michelle Pfeiffer, Max Caulfield, Eve Arden, Connie Stevens, Tab Hunter, and Dody Goodman. In addition to her time at Paramount, she briefly worked for Billboard Magazine and enjoyed a long, successful career in sales at Furniture Fair.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Home at Hearthstone in Mt. Healthy, who provided vigilant and exceptional care for Elaine, treating her like family and loving her deeply.

Elaine will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. A service in her honor will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 10am to 12pm at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Follow the BLUE Line). In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Elaine’s name to Hospice of Cincinnati, Cincinnati ArtsWave, or the MS Society.

Guest Book

“Many memories growing up with Elaine.; especially when she had lived on the second floor of where I resided with my parents. Then surprisingly she became my aunt when she married my uncle in later years. She always teased me and made me laugh.”

“I enjoyed Elaine’s company, she was always full of stories. She was a good neighbor at Princeton Crossing, and as she grew more feeble it was our pleasure to help any time she called. Prayers of comfort for the family.”

“Aunt Elaine was such a special person. My mom, Louise, Aunt Betty and Aunt Elaine were all pregnant at the same time, with me, David and Karen. We kids, were blessed with ready made friends. Thank you. I will always remember Aunt Elaine, so many found memories. God bless you Aunt Elaine. Scott”

“You all have my deepest sympathy. I will truly miss my friend, Elaine. I’m so glad I was able to be in her life.”

“Our deepest sympathies to the entire family. Elaine was a wonderful person who will be surely be missed”

“Elaine and I were best friends for at least 60 years. We had so much fun together and had many escapades driving to and from work at Shillito’s. She was like a dear sister to me, and I will truly miss her.”
