Lisa devoted her life to caring for others, embodying compassion, and kindness during her tenure at Bethesda North and Providence Hospitals. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree at the determined age of 43, fulfilling her dream. She proudly served her community as a registered nurse, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives. Her nurturing spirit shone through every interaction, and she will be fondly remembered for her unwavering dedication to those under her care. Even upon her retirement, she was always a nurse at heart sharing her knowledge and skills with her family. Lisa believed strongly and was passionate about Women’s Rights, especially women’s reproductive health.
Lisa is survived by her loving husband, Richard Strecker, and by her cherished children: Eric Strecker and Lee Gambrel. She was a proud grandmother to Elisa Burns, Liam Strecker, Ehren Strecker, Raynalee Gambrel, and Ricky Gambrel, as well as a great-grandmother to Riley Burns. “Our sister Anne’s fav poem: “What though the radiance which was once so bright Be now for ever taken from my sight, Though nothing can bring back the hour Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower; We will grieve not, rather find Strength in what remains behind….” -William Wordsworth’s Ode: Intimations of Immortality”

“Favoring you in idiosyncratic ways, your babies were too my babies. I ache for them in this untimely loss. Relief in knowing that all of my sisters are now together w. our parents & Paul. Each, all FREE of pain, suffering and the unjust. Love Always Prevails. Toil to mother & provide, a daughters’ watchful eye, although a nurse by profession, all three of these were your calling. Darkness is dimmed by the INCREDIBLE Joy, Hilarity, Light and Love heard through roaring claps of Laughter-often wordless as we gasped for air; moments only Known to us, the “Rogers Girls.” So I will hold close just these glorious times-as they are THE truths that never wither. Deepest condolences most solemnly to my brother Ric-ard.”
