Emma Coots

Emma Coots

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Emma Coots, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who departed from us on July 25, 2024. Born in Pineville, KY on April 23, 1934, Emma was known for her infectious sense of humor and unwavering love for her family, especially her daughter Linda (Joseph) and son Randy (Kathleen), her sister Judy Hardin of Dalton, GA, along with her beloved grandchildren – Justin and Rachel and great-grandchildren – Brooklyn, Boston, Kinsley, and Peyton.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Caleb and Lucy Tuttle and her beloved husband, Ralph Coots.

Emma led a life filled with simple joys and treasured moments. She worked as a laborer in the manufacturing industry at CW Zumbiel and took pride in her work. Emma’s cooking skills were unmatched, with her famous pea salad, meat and potato burgers, and homemade turkey dressing delighting the taste buds of her family and friends.

Known to be a fan of Elvis, Emma’s love for music and good company shone through in her bowling nights and casino visits, where she never missed a chance to try her luck at the slot machines. She shared a special bond with Gus the monkey and enjoyed taking care of him alongside her daughter.

Family was everything to Emma. Christmas was a time she cherished, reveling in the holiday spirit surrounded by her loved ones. Notably, she loved attending parades, with the Shrine parade holding a special place in her heart as her son proudly drove one of the cars in the procession.

In celebration of Emma’s life and the legacy she leaves behind, there will be a private service held by family.

As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many, we find solace in the memories we shared with Emma. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and love will forever remain in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Emma’s life to Alzheimer’s Association https://act.alz.org/. Rest in peace, Emma Coots. Your spirit lives on in the love and laughter you brought to all who knew you.
