Obituary via Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home

Gary G. Schimpf, a proud United States Navy veteran, loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on May 9, 2025, surrounded by family.

Born to Mae and George Schimpf, Gary lived a life defined by honor, quiet strength, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. His service in the U.S. Navy was a source of pride, and he carried the values of duty, resilience, and humility with him throughout his life.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Carole Schimpf, and his daughters: Tracee Schimpf (Smith), Lisa Schimpf, and Josephine Guckiean. He is also survived by his sister, Jan Schimpf (Clause); his grandchildren, Tiffani (Ruth) Guckiean and Nathan Panter; great-grandchildren, Harrison and Murphy; and many extended family members and friends who were touched by his warmth and gentle nature.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristi Schimpf (Guckiean); his sister, Beverly Schimpf (Huber); and his parents, Mae and George Schimpf.

Gary will be remembered for his kind heart, his deep love for his family, and the quiet integrity with which he lived his life. His legacy of love, service, and strength lives on in those who knew and loved him.

A private family gathering will be held to honor Gary’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Gary’s memory to a veteran’s organization or hospice care foundation of your choice.
