Gary W. Smith

Gary W. Smith, age 82, died peacefully on Thursday, October 12^th, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Beloved husband of 66 years to Janet (nee Weber); cherished father of Glenn, Terry, and Sandra Hayes; devoted grandfather of Amy, Dustin, Timothy, and Terry Jr.; beloved great grandfather to Ethan, Aiden, Hudson, Angelina, Brandon, Sage, Keegan, and Ariyana. Dearest brother of Ronald (deceased) and Sharon Vaughn (deceased).

Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Martha (nee Lauderback).

Retiree of CSX railroad where he was a conductor for 25 years. He loved to end all his conversations by saying “Keep trucking by rail”.  In his free time Gary loved working in his yard and enjoyed playing golf, chess, and cards.

Friends may call at Arlington Memorial Gardens Lakeside Chapel, 2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 on Wednesday October 18^th, 2023, where visitation will be held from 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM. Service immediately following.  Entombment will take place in Oak.
