Geneva Wright

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Geneva Wright, who left this world on August 14, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on August 28, 1940, in Kentucky, Geneva spent her life as a beacon of love, education, and kindness. A dedicated teacher at Landmark Christian School, she nurtured countless young minds and was honored to be recognized as one of the World’s Best Educators. Her passion for teaching was only matched by her love for her family.

Geneva is survived by her cherished son, Michael (Karen) Wright; grandchildren, Travis Wright and Julie Huff; and great-grandchildren, Paisleigh, Maggie, Waylon, and Cash. She also leaves behind her loving siblings, Ola Chappell, JC (Janice) Baldwin, and Helen Baldwin.

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Bessie Baldwin, her beloved husband, Norville Wright and her brothers, Kenny and Lee Baldwin.

Geneva embraced life with unwavering joy. She found happiness in her daily Bible readings, often sharing her insights with those around her. A true nature lover, she adorned her garden with flowers, enjoying the tranquility they brought. In her younger years, she delighted in gourmet cooking and often taught her daughter-in-law the art of canning. She adored being a teacher and cherished all the students she was able to teach over the years.  Family gatherings were a highlight of her life, especially vacations to Clearwater and Sarasota, Florida, where her laughter could be heard echoing through the sunny shores.

The family will be having a private gathering to celebrate the beautiful life of Geneva. We invite all who knew her to remember the joy she brought to us and to honor her legacy.

As we say our goodbyes, let us remember her gentle spirit, her love for gardening, her fondness for game shows, and the countless moments over word searches that brought smiles to her face. Geneva will be missed immeasurably, but her love and wisdom will remain in our hearts forever.
