HAS OCCURRED
George Robert Harper, 85, passed away in his home in Jacksonville, Florida on Monday, January 9, 2023. He was born on September 14, 1937 in Cincinnati, Ohio to George C Harper and Edna F Toomey. He had a love of the outdoors, especially fishing, in his younger days. He was a lover of animals of all sorts. He had a love of knowledge and one time read his entire set of encyclopedia’s and the entire dictionary front to back. He loved to read and loved to watch western’s. He was a hard worker his entire life. He worked at Ford Motor Company from 1963-2001, working many hours of overtime to provide for his wife and 8 children.
He is preceded in death by his parent’s George C Harper and Edna F Toomey; his beloved late wife of 44 years, Betty June Kidd; Children, Trina S Marshall and George W Harper; Brother, Arthur A Harper, Sister’s, Margret J Burton and Helen M Large, and step brother, Carl G Harner.
Mr. Harper is survived by loving wife of 20 years, Cindy Harper; Children, Betty A (Terry) Lahmann, Jane (Randy) Lane, Georgia L (James) Idle, Robert C (Holly) Harper, Joe E Harper, Michelle L Harper, Step daughter, Kathryn Giard, 34 grandchildren and 48 Great Grandchildren, Brothers, Mike (Angie) Harper, and Rodney Harper, Sister, Edna Harper (Ron) Wagers.
Graveside services will be for family at noon at Arlington Memorial Gardens, in Cincinnati, Ohio, on January 28, 2023 followed by a Celebration of Life gathering for family and friends from 2-5pm at 10493 Benning St., Harrison, Ohio 45030.
