Georgia P. Spencer, a beloved member of the community, passed away on October 30, 2023, at the age of 79. Born on September 14, 1944, in War Creek, Kentucky, Georgia was a cherished daughter, sister, mother and devoted partner to the late Carl Mosley. She peacefully departed this world at her residence in Ripley, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.
Georgia’s life was characterized by her unwavering love for country and bluegrass music. She found immense joy in attending gatherings at the Red Barn in Winchester, Ohio, and Bluegrass Festivals. She had the opportunity to meet and interact with legendary musicians such as Ralph Stanley and Jimmy Martin. These experiences deepened her passion for music and created lifelong memories.
Her dedication to her family was unparalleled. With utmost pride, she embraced the role of a mother, raising her son, Ernest Dean Spencer, with boundless love and unwavering support. Georgia made it her priority to spend as much time as possible with her son, cherishing every moment they had together.
Georgia’s strong work ethic was evident in her 30-year tenure as a laborer in the industrial sector. She dedicated herself to the Cin-Made Corporation, exemplifying loyalty, and commitment throughout her career. Her colleagues and superiors recognized her as a dedicated and hardworking employee, making her an invaluable asset to the company.
Beyond her career, Georgia found solace in her faith and attending church services, often accompanied by her sister, Geneva (Chester) Johnson. These moments of worship provided her with spiritual strength and a sense of peace throughout her journey.
Georgia’s zest for life extended to the kitchen, where she delighted in preparing meals for her loved ones. Her signature spaghetti dish was legendary, except for the one time it left everyone at the table sweating, laughing, yet not craving more. Her culinary skills were just one of the many ways she expressed her love and cared for those around her.
In celebration of Georgia P. Spencer’s life, her family and friends will come together to pay their final respects on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and Service at 11:00 AM with burial immediately following in the Garden of Restoration.
Georgia’s memory will forever be cherished by her son, Ernest (Regina) Spencer, and sister, Geneva (Chester) Johnson, her grandchildren, Heather Spencer, Ernest “Ernie” Spencer, Kenny Greer and Brandon Bunthoff, her great grandchildren, Ernest Spencer III, Maggie Spencer, Rowan Greer, and Addy Jo Bunthoff, as well as numerous extended family members, friends, and colleagues.
Georgia P. Spencer, a woman of unwavering love, determination, and faith, touched the lives of those around her and left a lasting mark on their hearts. Her legacy will continue to inspire and serve as a reminder to cherish the value of family, the passion for music, and the importance of hard work.
In Georgia’s honor, donations can be made to local charities supporting arts and music programs, reflecting her deep passion and appreciation for country and bluegrass music.
May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory live on in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched.
