Howard Angel, beloved husband of the late Gail Louise Angel (nee Jones) for 64 years, passed away on January 24, 2024, at the age of 89. He was born August 18, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He met the love of his life in high school and they married shortly after graduation. Howard proudly served our country in the US Navy from 1953-1960. He enrolled in full-time evening/night classes and graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor’s in science, working his way up to management at Emery for 43 years. He “retired” only to get a full-time job that he loved for a combined 25 years at Hader Hardware and then transitioned to Engel’s Hardware in Miamitown, Ohio. He loved helping people, receiving shipments and running inventory.

Howard was a faithful father to his sons Scott Angel, Gary (Tangi) Angel and the late Mark (Lori) Angel. Howard loved to brag about his five grandchildren; Landen Angel, Kerner Angel, Riley Angel, Skylar Angel, and Ledger Angel. He also leaves behind his only living brother, Bruce (late Wanda) Angel along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Brother in law of Betty (Larry) Wilson. Preceded in death by brothers, Clinton Angel, Bernard Angel, and Denver Angel.

Howard was a long-time member at White Oak Christian Church and member of the Homebuilder’s Sunday School class. He played horseshoe’s for over 30 years and won numerous championships in the leagues he joined, won dance competitions with his favorite partner, Gail, belonged to the Mason’s and loved running as a hobby. He was the number one coffee maker for his Sunday school class and served on the Evangelism team at church with a humble heart. His dedication to church and family will be dearly missed.

“My dad was a great guy, Always staying active when he retired from Emery Industries. He liked working part time at the hardware store where he made a lot of new friends. He also liked walking at Northgate mall for exercise. He was always fun to have a conversation with. He could tell some stories, and he liked going to his grandsons basketball games. Dad I love you and miss you. Scott”
