Ira C. Mills passed away on July 23, 2023 at the age of 78 years old. Ira was born on June 19th,1945 to Anna Mills (Skaggs) and Clarence Mills. He will forever be remembered for his dedicated services as a Cincinnati Firefighter and his hardworking persona. Ira was a member of the United States Navy where he served during the Vietnam Era and then went on to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a firefighter. He served as an Engineer with the Cincinnati Fire Department for 30 + years. He was so committed to his job that he saved the life of another man in a burning building while he was off duty at the expense of burning himself, earning him Firefighter of the Year in 1972. Ira also owned several businesses including a hardware store, fencing company, and several real estate properties. His perserverance and commitment to providing a better life for his family was unmatched. 

Ira found great joy traveling the world and being able to experience those moments with his wife, family, and friends. He loved to watch horse racing along with a good cigar. Most of all, Ira enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was not shy to get out on the dance floor and have fun. He was a provider, steadfast, reliable. He was caring, kind, loving, and there whenever anyone needed him. He will be dearly missed. 

Ira is survived by his beloved wife Carol Mills (Farfsing), loving daughter Heather Andrea Green (Andy Olsen) and his late son Michael Ira Mills. He is the cherished grandfather to Brittany Carol Green (Cole Weddle) and Alexander Gordon Green. Loving Great Grandfather to Avery Cole Weddle and Cruz Michael Weddle. Dear brother to Juliet Knost, Thomas Mills (Tammy Mills), Nancy Mills, and the late Shirley Kissling. Ira is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews. 

The Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, August 9th at 10AM at St. Ann Catholic Church. 2900 West Galbraith Road, Cincinnati, OH 45239 Interment will immediately follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
