James Anthony “Jim” Mentzel, husband of the late Virginia Mentzel. Devoted father of Sharon Hartman, Anna Daniels, Teresa Vaughn, Linda Rieman, Mike Hill Mentzel, Kenny Mentzel, Connie Irvine, Virginia “Jenny” Mahon, Karen Weed, Kimberly Mentzel, Debbie Knepfle, David Mentzel and Dale Koutros. Son of the late Charles and Catherine (nee Labert) Mentzel. Dear brother of Charlotte, Charlie, Theresa, Cathie and Patty. Loving grandfather of numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Jim enjoyed square dancing, baseball, horse shoes and sports. He passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, age 92.

Visitation at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Rd., on Thursday (Feb. 23) from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann Church, 2900 W. Galbraith Rd., on Friday (Feb. 24) at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
