James Arden Johnson

May 29, 1952 – November 9, 2023

James Arden Johnson

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Arden Johnson, a beloved brother, occupational health specialist, and devoted member of his community. James peacefully entered eternal rest on November 9, 2023, at the age of 71, surrounded by his loving family and close friends in Maineville, OH.

Born on May 29, 1952, in the vibrant city of Detroit, MI, James was the eldest son of his late parents, Robert and Norma (nee Clark) Johnson. James was a man of deep faith, and he embraced Christianity wholeheartedly, becoming the first Christian in his family. His knowledge of scripture was vast, and he found solace and guidance through his unwavering devotion.

James’s thirst for knowledge led him to pursue higher education. He achieved his undergraduate degree at Western Michigan and continued his academic journey at Ohio University, where he obtained his doctorate. In between his studies, he started his own window washing business, utilizing his strong work ethic and attention to detail to clean for various establishments, including the renowned Mrs. Fields Cookies.

Not only was James dedicated to his personal and professional pursuits, but he also found great fulfillment in giving back to his community. As a proud baseball coach for the Salvation Army, he mentored and inspired countless young athletes, instilling in them values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.

Throughout his career, James made significant contributions as an occupational health specialist in the healthcare industry. He was employed at Bethesda / Jewish Hospital, where he demonstrated his passion for promoting well-being and safety in the workplace. James’s expertise and dedication earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and patients alike.

James is survived by his beloved sister, Kathy Mills, and his devoted brother, Mike Johnson. Together, they formed an unbreakable bond of love and support, cherishing the memories shared throughout their lives.

Although our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in the knowledge that James is now reunited with his parents in a place of eternal peace. His legacy of faith, hard work, and kindness will forever echo in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

To honor and celebrate James Arden Johnson’s life, a graveside service will be held on November 20, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Arlington Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join in paying their respects and bidding farewell to a remarkable man who touched so many lives. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army, an organization dear to James’s heart.

May the memories of James Arden Johnson bring comfort and strength to all who mourn his loss. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
