James Edward Dye

Mr. James Edward Dye, age 80, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on December 23, 2023.

Jim was born in Jackson, OH to Everett and Louise Dye. He joined the United States Navy and he served during the Vietnam War. He played basketball and baseball while in the service. He coached his boys in basketball, soccer and baseball, was a Cleveland Brown’s fan and enjoyed over-feeding the squirrels, with non-salted peanuts, as they were not high in cholesterol as the salted variety, according to Jim.

Jim’s sarcastic sense of humor and straight-forward opinions will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

Jim married Janice Canary and she preceded him in death in 2019. Jim was also preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Nickles.

Jim is survived by his children, Gregory (Kristy) Peterson, Matthew (Michelle) Dye, Daron (Kimberly) Mosley, granddaughter, Hannah Peterson and many extended relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM when the services will begin, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 11981 Pippin Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
