Obituary for James Edward Flohr

Cincinnati, OH – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Edward Flohr, who left us on May 13, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on January 19, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio, James led a life marked by dedication, creativity, and resilience.

James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, embodying the spirit of service and sacrifice that many hold dear. After his military service, he channeled his technical skills into a fulfilling career as an electronic engineer, where he made lasting contributions to his field.

An avid enthusiast of current events, James found joy in watching television and keeping up with the news. He cherished family gatherings, often expressing his love through his culinary talents; his cooking was a beloved feature at family celebrations. In addition to cooking, James had a passion for painting, capturing the world around him with vibrant colors and creative expression.

James is survived by his cherished nieces, Vivian Flohr and Kimberly (Jeff) Smith, and his nephew, Robert (Dawn) Flohr Jr. He is also fondly remembered by his cousin, David and Dianne Ader, and Sandy Henry, along with other nieces, nephews, and cousins who were touched by his kindness and generosity.

James was preceded in death by his mother Vivian Lowe, father Elmer Flohr, brother, Robert Flohr, and niece, Wendy Flohr.
