James F. Golden

March 21, 1943 – September 18, 2024

James F. Golden

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of James Francis Golden, 81, on September 18, 2024. Jim, a native of Newton Falls, NY, graduated from Clifton-Fine Central High School and then received his bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Tri-State University (now Trine University). During his college years he met Ken and Ed. All three fellows come to work and live in Cincinnati, Ohio. They rented a house together and spent their free time racing and fixing stock cars and triumph sports cars. It was at this time he acquired a 1955, TR2, which he restored and kept till this day.

While the three guys worked at Milacron, they met Russell. These 4 men formed a life long friendship. All of them were engineers and you could be hard pressed to find anyone kinder, smarter, and more trustworthy people, than these men.

He was a jack-of-all-trades, known for his mechanical skills and love for his farm and vintage cars. Whether he was fixing things or playing with his horse BlackJack, Jim was always in his element. Jim was an avid golfer and never missed Saturday mornings until he started feeling bad. Along with his love of golf he valued his golfing buddies Bob, Terry and Tom. You would often find Tom and Jim at the driving range, honing their golf skills and Jim would help tom improve his swing.

Some people go through life and never find one good friend, Jim had 6, and they were all wonderful people. Ed, Ken, Russell, Tom, Bob and Terry, Thank you for being part of Jim’s life.

Jim leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Judith Golden, nephews Thomas Golden and John Boner, niece, Karen E. Golden, brother-in-law, Greg Boner, and a large circle of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on October 24, 2024, from 10:00 AM until services begin at 11:00 AM, at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road 45231. Once on the grounds of the memorial park, turn Left and follow the BLUE line to the funeral home. He will be remembered fondly for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Golden, Ida Golden, brother, Thomas (Dolores) Golden, twin siblings, Judith Ann Golden and John Golden and a second set of twins, Joseph Edward Golden and Joanne Golden-Boner.

Guest Book

“Jim and I quickly became friends in the mid 80s, when we worked together. We quickly discovered our common interests with cars and golf. I’ll never forget the days we spent on the golf course and the endless conversations we had while driving to and from Miami Whitewater golf course; every Saturday morning for about 25 years. Jim never forgot to wish me a happy birthday and thank me for my service . Jim will always be loved and remembered as a best friend. May he rest in peace. Bob and Judy Salzarulo”

“Dear Judith, Please accept our sympathy. Dale met all members of the Golden Family through Tom when they were students at UofOttawa in the late nineteen fifties. He always enjoyed visits with all of the family in Newton Falls. We also enjoyed receiving the Christmas letters each year from Jim keeping us up to date on both of your activities through the year. We will miss them. Blessings, Hilary & Dale Faris”

“My deepest condolences to a man that was my god father he was a good man that liked the finer things in life . He had a Nissan sports car for years and cared deeply for his wife Judy .”
