James Gilbert Beattie

James “Jim” Beattie passed away on June 23, 2024, at the age of 99. Jim proudly served in the Navy during World War II and was a dedicated member of the Shriners and a 32nd Degree Mason. When he wasn’t serving his country or those in need, you could always find Jim twirling around the dance floor with his sweetheart, Marian Baird.

He’s survived by his son, Gordon Beattie, longtime partner, Marian Baird, grandchildren, Jess Beattie, Kristin Becker, great-grandchildren, Hutch Beattie, Audrey Becker, Rendel Becker, and many extended relatives and friends. And while we’re saying goodbye to Jim, we should remember that he is now reunited with his parents, wife, Grace Eleanor Beattie, and daughter-in-law, Linda C. Heckman, who preceded him in death.

Graveside services will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens on July 3rd, 2024 at 11:30 am. Family and friends should meet at the Family Gathering Area at 11:15 for procession to the graveside. Memorial donations can be directed to The Cincinnati Masonic Center at 317 East Fifth Street
