Jean Mary Emma Soller

april 7, 1934 – august 5, 2026

Jean Mary Emma Soller

Jean Mary Emma (Meinlschmidt) Soller, born on April 7, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio, peacefully departed this world with her daughter by her side on August 5, 2026, in Newport, Kentucky. Jean lived a life rich with creativity, love, joy, playfulness and kindness. Her dedication to family, career, and faith was very apparent.

While working at Procter & Gamble she met her late husband Richard and spent 65 blissful years with him.  She later worked as an Administrative Assistant for Federated Department Stores and eventually retired to enjoy the next chapter of her life with her husband.   She attended the University of Cincinnati and is a life member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.

She always enjoyed traveling with her husband and being his biggest cheerleader during his Senior Olympic Competitions.  Jean early on dabbled in Senior Olympics competing in bowling and won several medals/ribbons.  Jean’s creative side took over and she found joy in watercolor painting. This led her into being one of the founding board members of the Greater Cincinnati Watercolor Society in 2002. Showcasing her art in local shows, painting greeting cards, and loved sharing her original paintings with friends.  Her affinity for flowers reflected her nurturing nature and how she brought warmth and beauty to the lives of those around her.

She was also a dedicated member of the Oak Hills Presbyterian Church for over 45 years, where she was always active organizing and helping with church events and community outreach.

Jean was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2020, and Richard remained faithfully by her side. Even as the disease progressed, it did not diminish the joy in her life, and Richard — together with their daughter Mary — navigated each step with steady compassion and love. After his passing her daughter Mary gracefully took loving care of her in her home and was dedicated to providing steadfast joy, comfort, and love.

Jean is survived by her cherished daughter, Mary Soller.  Deepest gratitude goes to her wonderful caregivers, Lyndsay Norton, Cindy Brown, and the staff at Bluegrass Care Navigators for their compassionate care.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arnold “Richard” Soller, and parents, Charles and Alma Meinlschmidt. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21st, 2026 from 11:00am-12:00pm at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Follow the BLUE line). A funeral service will follow at 12:00pm. Burial will take place at 1:00pm at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231.

Flowers would be welcome, and/or memorial contributions in honor of Jean can be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators www.bgcarenav.org/give. Jean’s memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, leaving behind a legacy of love, support, and artistic spirit.

“Sending sincere sympathy to you, Mary. Your family were Hocking Drive neighbors. Jane & Phil Dumke”

“Jean and Dick were shining stars for Stonehaven. The smiles and stories they shared were unmatched! Love that they are back together and dancing to “Look at Us” as they did at our annual Fall event! Our resident musician, LM, provided the music, they provided the joy! Peace to you, Mary. Loved seeing your family together!”

“Mary, this was a lovely tribute. I have fond memories of your parents when we were growing up. My mother considered them lifelong friends, even after they were no longer neighbors, and always shared updates on Dick & Jean – about your dad’s running feats or your mom’s artistic talent! Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother.”

“Mary, My heart is with you. Thank you for sharing your mom with not only myself but so many others. You gave her the world. A beautiful tribute for a very beautiful woman.”

“One of the greatest Joys during the short time that I served at Oak Hills Presbyterian Church was coming to know the Sollers: father, mother, and daughter, each one possessed such an inner light and joy, totally focus on pleasing others. On their hardest days, they shone with light and smiles. I’m praying for Mary and grateful that she’s taken such exquisite care of her mother. I know that her parents are rejoicing in Heaven! They will be watching over their daughter with love.”
