It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joanne Rena Lang, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, who departed this world on February 7, 2026, at the age of 91. Joanne was born on November 5, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she lived her entire life, cherishing her deep roots in the community.
As a dedicated nurse at Children’s Hospital, Joanne devoted herself to the care of others, embodying compassion, and commitment in the healthcare field. Her profound impact on the lives of countless families will forever be remembered.
Joanne was married to her cherished spouse, Daniel Lang, for 50 wonderful years, sharing a partnership filled with love and support. Together, they created a family that reflects the values and devotion they held dear. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Young, her son, Jeff Miller, her stepdaughter Julie McCracken, and her grandchild, Lauren (Tate) Yarnell, her step grandchildren, Ethan McCracken, and Ally McCracken, as well as her great-grandchildren, TJ Yarnell, Lilly Yarnell, Tucker Yarnell, and Leah Joanne Yarnell. Joanne also leaves behind her loving sisters, Joyce Witter and Janet Boreman, who will miss her deeply.
Joanne’s life was a testament to love, family, and service. She inspired those around her with her kind spirit and unwavering dedication to her loved ones.
Services to honor Joanne will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Unity of Garden Park Church, 3581 W. Galbraith Road, Cincinnati, OH 45239. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with a Memorial service at 12:00 noon, allowing family and friends to come together to celebrate her extraordinary life and the legacy she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Children’s Hospital in Joanne’s memory, supporting the vital work she was passionate about throughout her nursing career.
May her spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, Carshel and Lillian Countryman, and her stepchildren, Kathleen Sullivan and Michael Sullivan.
