John “Jack” Galen Rose, age 90 passed away peacefully on Saturday September 12, 2026. He was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, on April 4, 1936, to the late Galen R. Rose and Helen Margaret (nee Kronschnoble) Rose.

Jack was a graduate of Coldwater High School and the University of Dayton. After graduation he quickly established himself as an accomplished Mechanical Engineer, working in a few markets in the Midwest, until he made his way to Louisville, Kentucky where he met the love of his life.

He became the beloved husband of the late Jacqueline (nee Priddy) Rose. Loving Father of James (Christine) Rose, Maria (the late Mark) Geers and the late Theresa Rose. Proud Grandfather of Angela Mazzaro, Sarah (Jason Kamp) Geers, Randolph Geers, Timothy (Renee) Rose, Shannon (Pat) Kissel, Steven (Lindsey) Rose and Brenna Rose. Great-Grandfather of 15 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 5 brothers, Glen, Richard, James, William and Jerry Rose.

John was a hard worker, devoted to his Catholic Faith and Family. The second youngest of six boys, he lost his father at the age of 16. His older brothers already out on their own, he became the man of the house and was there for his mother when she needed him most, but that’s the way John was, he always took care of everyone!

The Children Unlimited Years! In 1983 John and his wife Jackie purchased Children Unlimited Child Care & Learning Center. They were so excited to be in the business of educating young minds. He was known to the children as “Mr. John” and always had a smile, a hug, laughs or a joke to share. The CU kids just loved him and Miss Jackie!

We will miss his gentle soul, his kindness and silly sense of humor. We love you, Mr. John

Visitation will be held at Neidhard Young Funeral Home, 7401 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy, on Monday September 21, 2026, from 8:30am until10:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Church of the Assumption,7711 Joseph Street, Mt. Healthy, on Monday at 11:00am, followed by burial at Arlington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
