Obituary via Mihovk Rosenacker Funeral Home

JUDY MARIE RISNER (Judy), Dear daughter of the late Venus Risner and Josie (Stahl) Risner, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 in Cincinnati, OH. Judy is survived by her beloved sister, Betty (Risner) Stretch. Judy was born February 21, 1946 and was a lifelong resident of Cincinnati. Her recent home was in the community of Finneytown.

Judy was a proud aunt to two nephews, Michael Robert Stretch (wife, Kimberly (Geiger) Stretch) and Mark Thomas Stretch (Jeanette (Lockmiller) Stretch, sons of Judy’s sister Betty and her late husband Robert Stretch (Bob). Judy was also grand aunt to Kaitlin (Stretch) Bachelder, Dustin Stretch, Kristin (Stretch) Purcell, Emily (Stretch) Storie, Abby Stretch, Christopher Stretch, Ethan Lockmiller, and Avery Lockmiller. Judy was great grand aunt to Jack and Sophia Bachelder. She was also godmother to the children and grandchildren of her dear friends, Doug Matthews and his late wife, Teri (Eakins) Matthews.

Judy attended Norwood High School and graduated in 1963 as valedictorian. She attended the University of Cincinnati where she graduated with a degree in Mathematics. She later received her Masters Degree in Education from UC, as well. Judy’s first full-time teaching position in mathematics was at Woodward High School, where she taught for three years. In 1971, she moved to Mt. Healthy High School and was a proud member of the mathematics department there, retiring with distinction in 1993. Until her passing, Judy kept in close contact with many dear friends and fellow teachers from her years at Mt. Healthy, and met regularly for luncheons and special gatherings.

Throughout her life, Judy was active with family genealogy and kept in regular contact with family all around the country. She was especially proud of the Risner heritage and passed along her enthusiasm for research and family studies to her nieces and nephews. Judy thoroughly enjoyed quality time with her family and friends and was fond of travel, particularly trips to Tennessee where many of her Risner relatives lived.

Anyone who knew Judy, knew her as a loving and giving person who was always ready with a smile and a warm hug. Though she was stricken with polio at age 2, Judy was the model of determination throughout her entire life, meeting every challenge with grace and courage, forging a successful teaching career and an active life full of dear friends and loved ones. In addition to being a blessing to her family and friends, she had a huge heart for animals and an active interest in their welfare. The companionship of her own pets was one of the great joys of her life. She is survived by her dog (Cody) and her cat (Chloe) who are now in the care of close friends.

Judy will be deeply missed by her family and all those she touched during her time with us. Her legacy will be one of kindness and goodwill toward others. She is reunited with her loving parents and a host of loved ones who have gone before her. She will be fondly remembered in our hearts always.
