The family of Kay O. Murphy is sad to announce her passing on March 1, 2023.
She was surrounded in love by her family and friends. She loved life and all things beautiful.
Kay was born in Stryker, OH to Robert Osborne and Alice Osborne. Kay married Dennis Murphy of Cincinnati, Ohio on August 13, 1960, in Toledo, Ohio after completing college at Toledo University. Dennis and Kay met at Mt. Healthy High School where Kay started the drill team called the “Sparkettes.”
Kay was active in community theatre, served as a cheerleading advisor and choreographer for Greenhills High School. She enjoyed playing clarinet with her father in the American Legion Band and Wyoming Winds.
She was a loving, caring mother of Tracey (Jeff) Wells, Michele (Mark) Armstrong, and Heather (Missy) Murphy. She was a grandmother to Mallory, Spencer, Brian, Emma, and Katherine. She was a step-grandmother to Allison, AJ, Amanda, and Abby. She also had two beloved and spoiled dogs- Angel and Buster.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a truly wonderful woman who will be dearly missed.

“So sorry for your loss, Dennis. Great lady. I have many fond memories of Ozzie sitting across from me in band. Great clarinet player and class mate. Glad she was able to continue on with her music in bands. Prayers be with you and your family. May you have many good memories to look upon.”
