In Loving Memory of Kristina Ann Almendinger

Fairfield, OH – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Kristina Ann Almendinger, who left us on August 29, 2023, at the age of 61, two days shy of her birthday. She was born on August 31, 1961, in Cincinnati, OH, to her late parents Betty and John Neumaier.

Kristina was a remarkable woman who excelled in every aspect of her life. With her unwavering determination and intelligence, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in finance, which led her to a successful career in the corporate industry. For many years, she graced the offices of Procter & Gamble (P&G) with her keen financial insights and unparalleled work ethic.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kristina will always be remembered for her warm heart,  loving nature and creative artistry. She had an infectious laugh and a genuine kindness that touched the lives of all who knew her. Her capacity for compassion knew no bounds, and she was always there for her family and friends.

Kristina is survived by her devoted and beloved husband, Joel Almendinger. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Joseph Neumaier and Eric Neumaier.  She held a special place in her heart for her brother Jim (Dana Ferris) Neumaier and sister Suzanne (Seth) Foster, with whom she shared cherished memories from their childhood days in Cincinnati. She was a source of inspiration and guidance to her stepfather James Reliford and will forever be missed by her stepson Brad (Rachel) Almendinger, stepdaughter Renee (James) Scharf, nephew Jonathon (Jaime) Neumaier, nephew Eric Neumaier, niece Laura (Jesse) Ide, nephew James Otterbacher, and niece Sara Neumaier.

As a step-grandmother, Kristina held a special place in the hearts of her cherished step-grandchildren, Grace Almendinger, Sophia Almendinger, Bella Almendinger, Sebastian Scharf, and Roman Scharf. She imparted wisdom, shared laughter, and created lasting memories that will resonate with them forever.

To honor and celebrate the beautiful life of Kristina Almendinger, we invite you to join us for the Scattering at Arlington Memorial Gardens on September 6, 2023, at 11:30 am. Prior to the scattering, a Visitation will be held at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 9:30 am, followed by a Life Celebration Service at 10:30 am.

Kristina’s vibrant spirit will live on within the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though her physical presence may be gone, her legacy will endure, reminding us to cherish each moment and to love unconditionally. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society https://donate.cancer.org/ or a charity of your choice in Kristina’s honor.

Forever in our hearts, she will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. May her soul find eternal peace.

“My heart is saddened because I will miss Kris’s smile and genuine goodness. We have lost an angel here on earth but gained another amazing guardian angel who will live cancer free and continue to watch over her friends and family. I’m so sorry I can’t be at the celebration of her life this morning, but I do have her family and friends in my thoughts and prayers at this time. Until we meet again 💛💛🌻🌼”

“Kristina will be missed but never forgotten. She was definitely one of a kind in the very best of ways. She has made a profound difference in my life for the better. I only hope I am able to spread just a shred of the understanding, exuberance, and joy she shared with me to others. My sincere thanks to her family who took such good and loving care of her during her final days.”

“Our prayers are with the entire family during this very difficult time. May peace from the Lord be with all of you.”

“I meet Kristina at Crossroads Church in Mason at a Ladies Bible Study. The first time I meet her I told her that her necklace was beautiful and she immediately took it off and put it on me. I said NO you should keep it! Kristina proceeded to put the necklace on me as I continued to tell her NO. I feel so blessed to have known lovely Godly Kristina. Jesus be with her family and friends. Tishy Mason”

“This is not the end of our journey together. You must have a lot to accomplish before our spirits meet again. Forever my friend.”
