Lanora C. Schroder (nee Sterwerf), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away on April 5, 2025, at the age of 94.
She was the cherished daughter of Frank Sr. and Mary (nee Blanken) Sterwerf. Lanora was the loving wife to Earl Schroder and a devoted mother to Mildred (Deacon Bob) Stoeckle, Carol (Tim) Egbert, and Betty (Jay) Henggeler. Her family was her pride and joy, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.
Lanora was the proud grandmother of Stacey (Scott) Frommer, Nathan Egbert, Rob (Beth) Stoeckle, Kelly (Todd) Worley, Sara (Alex) Schoenecker, and Tony Stoeckle. She was also blessed with 9 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will remember her fondly. Lanora was preceded in death by her beloved siblings: Esther (Charlie) Smith, Robert (Eleanor) Sterwerf, Norbert (Del) Sterwerf, Mae (Ted) Kasper, Al (Mary Ann) Sterwerf, and Frank Jr. (Diane) Sterwerf.
Lanora was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW and a lifelong member of St. John Dry Ridge, where she found a strong community and a sense of purpose for 94 years. She thoroughly enjoyed her time spent with the Colerain and Miamitown Seniors, where she loved playing cards and bingo. Her spirit of joy and camaraderie will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, from 10:00 AM until the start of the Mass at 11:00 AM. Services will take place at St. John the Baptist Church, located at 5361 Dry Ridge Road, Cincinnati, OH 45252. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, a place that was dear to Lanora’s heart.
