Lewis Joseph Laake, age 87 of West Harrison, Indiana, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Born February 25, 1935, in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of Frank and Augusta (Kocher) Laake.
Lewis married Joan Langdon, December 18, 1954, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Worked for Proctor & Gamble for 34 years. After retiring Lewis and his wife enjoyed sailing, competitive dancing and loved to be outdoors hunting and just being with his family.
Survived by his wife, Joan Laake, of 68 years. Father of Debbie (Chuck) Devore, Cathy (Jon Brown) Hileman, Dodie (Charlie) Stephen. Grandfather of Shane Schulter, David (Natalie) Devore, Tammy (Ray Charles) Biddle, Dawn (Scott) VanKuren, Charles (Melissa) Stephen and Sammi Stephen. Great Grandfather of Tyler (Taylor) Biddle, Dakota Hubbard, Anthony Wert, Alex (Cassidy) Williams, Kelsey (Blayne) Collins, Oliver Stephen and Isaiah Stephen.
Preceded in death by his parents Frank and Augusta Laake, grandson Dougie Biddle along with five sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Shawn Crisman officiating all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030. A burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens, Cincinnati, Ohio.
