Lois Lemons

Lois Lemons

Lois A. Lemons, a beloved mother and step-mother, friend, and talented homemaker, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, at the age of 92. She was born on November 13, 1932, in Louisville, Kentucky, and later made her home in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she nurtured her family and embraced the joys of domestic life.

Lois was a spirited woman whose talent for sewing and knitting was only rivaled by her culinary skills. She will be fondly remembered for her delicious recipes, particularly her savory beef stroganoff, delightful poppy seed cake, and an array of irresistible Christmas cookies and fudge that were once the highlight of family gatherings. Lois cherished the holiday season, creating a warm atmosphere filled with love and laughter, where memories were made with her loved ones.

Lois is survived by many loving family members. Lois had a special bond with her beloved dog, Sally, and her cat, Hobo, whose companionship brought her immense joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Swilferd Lemons who brought much joy into her life.

As we remember Lois and the love she shared, we invite family to gather in celebration of her life. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 1:30pm at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Lakeside Mausoleum Chapel, 2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Follow the RED Line). Entombment will follow at 2:30pm.

Memorial contributions in honor of Lois can be made to the Hospice of Cincinnati at https://hospiceofcincinnati.org/donate/.

“Our prayers are with all of you”

“I will always remember our long talks in her villa and on her porch. She was such a kind and loving soul. I will always admire her love and dedication to Squire. They were the loves of each other’s lives. Their eyes lit up as they would tell me stories of how they met, the adventures they had and how their love grew over so many years. They are together again, now and forever. Lois will be missed by so many. She was truly extraordinary.”

“I am saddened by Lois’s passing because I did not have enough time to know her better! She was warm, wonderful woman that I learned to love so much! Her kindness to me was such a blessing. She proudly showed me her villa and all the pictures of her family, especially Squirer! She had begun to polish a bell for her nephew or clean up her sewing machine for her great granddaughter in Tenn. She wanted those she loved to have her cherished things that she held so dear to her heart! Loved her so much, so much! Her family was blessed to had Lois in there lives.❤️”
