Lucy E. Keith

Lucy E. Keith was a beloved sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother during her incredible 91 years of life. She passed away peacefully in the early hours of Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

Lucy will be remembered for her loving nature, her love for her career at Hopple Plastics (which she retired from after 40 years) and her occasional, endearing stubbornness. She doted on her family and loved to share stories with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lucy had a long and full life. She was born on February 8, 1932, in Harlan, Kentucky, to two loving parents, Edward Hensley and Fannie Morgan Hensley. Her father was a coal miner, and her mother was a homemaker. Lucy had eight younger siblings.

Lucy is survived by her son Curtis Andrew Keith, Jr. and his wife Kathy Keith, her sister Imogene Coffey, sister in law Avon Hensley, sister in law Edna Hensley, brother in law Dwayne Jones, son-in-law Billy Lunsford; grandchildren Curtis A. Keith, III, Patrick Lunsford and wife Casey Barber Lunsford, Carolyn Hunter and Craig Rollins, Brian Keith and wife Sonia Keith; great grandchildren: Chelsea Durr, Dominique Taylor and husband Brandon Taylor, Reagan Vater, Noah Keith and wife Casey Keith, Owen Hunter and Baylee Bingaman, Haley Lunsford, Abby Keith, Hailey Keith, Hannah Keith, Malcolm Keith, Andrew Keith, Aiden Keith and great-great grandchildren Evelinn Durr, Rhett Durr, Hattie Mae Stack, Sebastian Applegate, Stella Applegate and one on the way. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents Edward Hensley and Fannie Morgan Hensley as well as her siblings E.W. Hensley, Willard Hensley, Edith Michelle Jones, Gemima Derrett, Ernest Hensley, Paul Hensley, Siles Hensley, and daughter Janice Sue Lunsford.

We will miss Lucy dearly, but we are so grateful for the time we had to spend with her. We will always feel her presence in our hearts. Until we meet again.
