Marlene Joy(ce) Moloney

Marlene Joy(ce) Moloney, born on September 24th, 1937 to the late Rice and Leona Vaughn Messer (nee Kelley), loving wife to the late James John Moloney, passed away peacefully on December 29th, 2025 at the age of 88.

Marlene’s joyful spirit and her warm, bright smile could light up any room. She dedicated her life to her faith, her family and friends, and to creating a welcoming home where she loved to cook and host countless parties, bringing love and joy to so many hearts. She was loved by all and she will be deeply missed. 

She is survived by her brother Gerald Messer, her daughters Amy Moloney and Genevieve “Amanda” (Maggie) Salvaggio, her step-children Patti (Allan) Massey and Mike (Linda) Moloney, her grandchildren Layla Salvaggio, Giana Salvaggio, David (Paula) Schwiegeraht, Jim (Tracy) Schwiegeraht, Angel Moloney, Jennifer Moloney, John (Cheryl) Moloney and Jessica (Marshall) Klickman as well as great and great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her dear son William Bryan Mercer, her loving sister Sherry McCrory, her brothers David Messer, Dorman Messer, Charles “Cliff” Messer and James Messer. 

A Celebration Of Life will be held on 1/24/2026 from 2-6pm at the Yeager-Benson Memorial American Legion Post 199 in Harrison, OH
