Mary Ellen Rehe

It is with profound sadness that we announce Mary Ellen Rehe (nee Dobell) passed away in the loving care given to her by the staff at Gateway Springs and Suncrest Hospice Care in Hamilton, Ohio on May 22, 2026, at the age of 95. She had a long battle with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward (Ed) Bernard Rehe. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Harry Edwin Dobell and Ruth Theresa (nee McCudden).

Mary is lovingly remembered by her daughter Patricia (Richard) Stanley and her son Joseph (Patricia) Rehe. She is fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Julie (Mark) Miller, Timothy (Brandi) Rehe, Rebecca Rehe, Craig (Erica) Stanley, Abigail (Jordan) Von Wahlde, Michelle (Aidan) Kehoe and her great grandchildren Hunter Rehe, Cohen Von Wahlde, Carter Von Wahlde, Trey Stanley and Claire Von Wahlde.

Mary was born in Cincinnati and grew up in Norwood, Ohio with her siblings, Anna (Dick) Watts, Ruth (Elmer) Roehr, Yvonne (Ivory) Hoskins and Harry Dobell Jr. all preceded in death.

In Mary’s early childhood she and her family loved spending time at St. Mary’s Lake fishing. Mary attended the University of Cincinnati, and held jobs at Jewish Hospital and American Laundry Machinery Company, where she met her husband Ed. 

Mary was a wonderful and devoted Mother. She was a wonderful cook. She loved to travel with her husband, traveling all over the United States. She loved spending time with her family and going to the casino. She will forever be in our hearts.
