Maxine “Mickee” Rose Hamlin

March 10, 1930 – January 27, 2025

Maxine “Mickee” Rose Hamlin

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maxine “Mickee” Rose Hamlin, beloved wife to the late Jack Hamlin. Mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, who left this world peacefully on January 27, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on March 10, 1930, in Lincoln Park, MI, Maxine dedicated her life to her family and created a warm and loving home in Cincinnati, OH.

Mickee was a woman of remarkable spirit—spunky, classy, and fiercely independent. She had a unique blend of cleverness and craftiness that made her an intriguing person to know. Her passion for life shone through her love for shopping, her delight in traveling, and her ability to weave humor into everyday moments with her sharp, sarcastic wit. Friends and family alike admired her as one of the best-dressed women in any room, always turning heads with her style. She was a dedicated member of Hope Lutheran Church. Above all, she cherished her family deeply, pouring her heart into nurturing her children, Tim Hamlin, Terry (Beth) Hamlin, Todd Hamlin, Tori (Mark) Smith and Tina (Jim) Roemer. Also survived by her loving grandchildren: Chris (Heather) Hamlin, Rachel Hamlin, Tyler Roemer, Erika (Zach) Hart, Michelle (Cory) Schneider, Christine Smith and Amanda Smith and Great Grand Children: Grace Hart, Wyatt Hart, Harper Schneider, Josiah Hamlin, Victorianna Hamlin, Caleb Ross, Kayla Ross, Hailey Smith, Alycia Smith, Courtney Smith and Thomas Conners. Nieces, nephews, friends and extended relatives.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Walter Sr. and Rose Wozniak, siblings: Walter Wozniak Jr. and Gertrude Yeikowski and her son Todd Hamlin.

Mickee’s life was a testament to being a fighter, approaching challenges with grace and determination. She leaves behind not just memories but a legacy of love, laughter, and a zest for life that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Services to honor Mickee’s extraordinary life will be held on Tuesday February 4, 2025, at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 beginning at 10:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating her vibrant spirit during this time of remembrance. Burial will take place immediately following funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Cincinnati, 720 E. Pete Rose Way. Suite 330, Cincinnati, OH  45202.

In these moments of grief, let us gather together to reflect on the joy she brought into our lives and to share the stories that remind us of her spunky and loving spirit. Mickee will be profoundly missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

“Aunt Micky, Although you weren’t technically my “aunt”, you were my mom’s. I will cherish the few times I had on this earth spending time with you and learning of my polish heritage. I’m sure that a soon as you arrived in heaven and hugged Jesus you probably saw my mom. I bet she was so happy to see you. Until we meet again dearest auntie.”

“Gone but you will never to be forgotten I’m so glad I was your Visiting Angel even if it was for a short time. Always love your smile, enjoyed our talks and that big hug . Forever in my heart .””

“Dearest Ciocia, (but I always said Chuchi), I will miss you but I will always love you and the Memories we shared together all these years. From the time I was born until I was 10 years old, we lived with each other. In recent years, we talked on the phone together about every 4-6 wks, you doing most of the talking of the past Memories you and I shared. You also helped me with many of my life’s problems, like the “Big Sister” that you always were to me, being my Mother’s young sister. I also had many nice visits over the decades with you and all your family in Cinci. Hi Tim, Terry, Tina, and Tori! Blessings to you. Oh Chuchi, my Chuchi! We will meet again someday! For sure!! I’m looking forward to another long talk with you. I love you so, Doreen”

“Mrs. Hamlin, You were always kind to me, even though I could be a dopey kid! Todd was my best friend and we spent a lot of time at your house and in your pool. Grateful for many fond memories of you and your family. MikeHarper”
