Melissa Bell (nee Morris) 44 of Hamilton, passed away suddenly on Thursday December 26, 2024. Devoted wife of Brian Bell and loving mother of Corey (Brenna), Angela (Devin), Abigail (Logan), and Carter Hoskins and Ava (Andrew) Bell. Cherished “GG” to Corbin, Ariyona, Cecelia, and Kensley. Survived by her loving siblings, Royan (Ivy), Rory, Richard (Jana), and Jamie, as well as nieces Imani and Olivia and nephews Malcolm and Ethan. Beloved daughter of Roland and Hortenze Morris. Melissa was preceded in death by her mother, Paulette Angela Johnson, grandparents, Levi Nathaniel (Tata) and Blanche May Corrodus-Johnson and granddaughter Josephine Hoskins.
Born in Spanish Town Jamaica, Melissa was a natural born caregiver. An astute student, avid reader, and brilliant mind, Melissa used these attributes to become a phenomenal Registered Nurse. Her career as a nurse spanned most of her adult life and she last shared her passion and patience with the patients of the VA Medical Center. She will be remembered by many as a skilled mental health clinician and devoted friend.
Personally, Melissa lived for her family and friends that became family. Hosting holidays, game nights and get-together’s, quality time with those she loved was of utmost importance. Melissa adored her children, grandchildren and fur babies Max and Vinny. Melissa was blessed to find love in her husband Brian Bell and enjoyed spending quality time tinkering with classic cars, working out, going to car shows and watching sports.
Our beloved Melissa loved fiercely and was a tireless advocate for mental health and the overall well-being of herself and others. The true role model of a dedicated mother, wife, sister, and friend, to many, Melissa’s passing leaves us with a profound void in our lives and she will eternally remain in our hearts. Visitation will be held on Saturday January 11, 2025, from 8:30 – 9:30am with funeral directly following, at Southland Missionary Baptist Church located at 2485 Springdale Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Gardens in Mt. Healthy.
