It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael David McCloskey, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, who left us peacefully on April 20, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on October 6, 1949, in Sault Sainte Marie, MI, Michael lived life with a genuine passion and kindness that touched everyone around him.
Michael took pride in his work as a painter, Michael was a devoted son taking on the role of caregiver to his mom. Friends and family knew him for his compassionate nature, infectious humor, and the way he could brighten any room with his laughter.
Michael attended the University of Rio Grande in Rio Grande Ohio. A proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club 2193, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2, and the American Legion. Michael valued community and camaraderie. He shared countless memories with friends and loved ones throughout his active involvement in these organizations.
Michael is survived by his dear sister, Sue Baker; his nephew, Mike Baker; niece, Karen (Jesse) Truett; great nephews Sam and Ben Truett; and great niece Elise Truett. Each of them cherished his presence in their lives and will carry his memory forward.
Michael was preceded in death by: his Parents Esther & Kyran McCloskey
Family and friends will pay their respects in a Private burial ceremony.
Michael will be laid to rest with reverence and love at Arlington Memorial Gardens, located at 2145 Compton Road, Springfield Township, OH 45231. He will be missed dearly but will forever remain in our hearts and memories.
“We will miss you,we have had many good times you sure did enjoy our trips to the lake and eagles in Celina at are place and all the boys from Minnesota Tammy will never forget are time in Minnesota you and Jeff stuck on side of the Rd & the turtle you guys found on road plus quite time on lake fishing and thanks for always being there when we needed a friend you will always have a place in our hearts we’ll miss you always your friends Jim & Tammy”
