Patrick “Pat” Lewis Orloff, of Reading, Ohio, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025 at the age of 89. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Louis and Doris (Hutchinson) Orloff. He graduated from Woodward High School where he met his lifetime sweetheart and surviving wife of 67 years, Jean (Jones) Orloff. 

As a longtime teacher and coach, Pat was a man of the community but maintained his “family first” dedication as a father to Maribeth (Brad) Snyder and Teresa Orloff (Mike White); loving “Papaw” to his grandchildren, Michael (Katie) White and Matthew White; uncle to Deborah Lewis; brother of Warren Orloff and the late Thomas Orloff; among his extended family and many dear friends. 

Pat completed his bachelor’s degree in education at Miami University in Oxford where he earned Mid-American Player in football and master’s degree in education at Xavier University in Cincinnati. He retired from Norwood High School as a physical education teacher, athletic director and coach of football and wrestling. He coached and taught at Reading High School and coached football for 19 years at Archbishop Moeller High School . Pat is a member of both the Norwood and Archbishop Moeller Athletic Hall of Fames. Although football was his chosen specialty, he taught swimming in the summers and was a self-proclaimed hockey coach for his grandsons. 

Pat worked at the Evendale Recreation Center for 32 years and was a long-time parishioner of Ascension & Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Wyoming. He enjoyed watching college football, the Reds and fishing with his grandsons. He loved all people of all ages and delighted in the experiences and relationships as a coach and mentor. 

Visitation will be from 10:30AM until the time of service at 12:30PM Thursday, October 30th at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 10211 Plainfield Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45241. Interment will follow at The Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45231.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Reading Community Schools, Norwood High School and Archbishop Moeller High School athletic departments.
