Paul Morgan of Youngsville, North Carolina, passed away in his home.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Paul graduated Norwood High School (Cincinnati) before serving in the United States Navy from October 21, 1975, to October 12,1979, where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Paul was a member of the Honor Society at North Carolina State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science, Business Management in 2006. After twenty-six years of dedicated service, he retired as a Quality Manager from Caterpillar Inc.

Paul was predeceased by his father, Glenn Morgan, stepfather, Larry Vaughan, and brother, Steven Vaughan.

Paul is survived by his beloved mother, Betty Vaughan (McIntosh), of Cincinnati, Ohio, brother, Ken Morgan, sister, Kathy (Bill) Whyte, sister, Patti Vaughan, sister, Vicki (Ted) Almay, sister, Tammy (Dennis) Hays, brother, Ted (Carol) Vaughan, brother, Mike (Melissa) Vaughan, and many, loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, family members and friends.

Appreciating a wide range of interests, Paul spent much of his leisure time reading, collecting baseball cards, and reveling in treasured motorcycle adventures.

He was a humble man, with a sharp intellect, who, according to a reliable source, had also mastered the art of the perfect hug. Paul had a great sense of humor, along with a hearty, contagious laugh…and was the epitome of a good guy. He was a peacemaker. The genuine kindness he bestowed on the world was a gift to all.

In remembrance of Paul Morgan’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

“Paul was a kind soul and always willing to help. As I started my career at Caterpillar, I had the pleasure of having Paul as a supervisor and prior to his retirement, I was able to work beside him as a peer. I learned a lot from Paul during my career. He will be missed.”
