A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
Paul Roger Julius, 80, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on August 3, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Julius, with whom he shared over 20 years of marriage.
He is survived by his children: Leslie Julius of Cincinnati and Peter Julius of Holland; and his stepchildren: Debbie (Jeff) Kouns of Cincinnati and Dave Kouns of Cincinnati. He was the proud Grandfather of Abigail Perun, Alyssa Perun, and Cooper Julius, Addison Julius and Step-Grandfather to Brandon Jump, Kevin Jump, Justin Kouns, Ashley Kouns, and Hayden Kouns. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert (Shelley) Julius of Perrysburg and John (Michaelene) Julius of Bonita Springs.
Paul was known for his warm smile, friendly demeanor, and a gift for making friends wherever he went. He worked diligently throughout his life as a steel salesman, where his natural ability to connect people shined. He found great joy in the outdoors, especially sailing, a passion he shared and enjoyed with his late wife, Jane. In high school, he was active in track and football, later, while attending Rollins College, he competed as a member of the ski team. Paul was also proud to have maintained 40 years of sobriety, a testament to his strength and determination. What people loved most about him were his laughter, his jokes, and his stories of a life well lived. Those who knew him say he taught them to never give up and to face life’s challenges with humor. He passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by the gentle sounds of birds chirping and children playing. His zest for life, deep love for his family, and tough resilience will be missed by all who knew him.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Lisa Beaumet, Charlie Beaumet, Nick Reuter, and all the nurses and caregivers who provided compassionate support over the last year. You kept him going and lifted his spirits when neither of us could. The family is forever grateful for the gift they were given in his final year of life.
A funeral service will be held on August 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Arlington Memorial Gardens Lakeside Mausoleum Chapel, (follow the red line upon entering the cemetery), with inurnment to follow at 11:00 AM. “I am so sorry to learn of Paul’s passing. I knew him many years ago and well remember his kindness, his friendship, and his humor, masked only by his genuine concern for others. He was a friend I needed at the very time I needed one and I haven’t ever forgotten that. Rest in peace, Paul. You will be missed.”

“Dearest Leslie, I am humbled by your great love, care and strength that you freely gave to your Dad in his year of need. I know it wasn’t easy and sometimes seemed almost impossible to stay the course, but you did. As I’m reading his obituary, I am struck by how I am reminded of you. His quick to laugh, his charm and ease with people are wonderful qualities. His impact is felt and will never be forgotten by those who encountered him. May he rest in peace and love. 💗”
