It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Penelope Ann Huber, aged 82, of Cincinnati, Ohio, who departed this world peacefully on March 20, 2025. Born on February 20, 1943, in Cincinnati, Penny was a devoted educator, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose kindness and passion for teaching left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Penny’s family was her greatest treasure. Married for almost 58 years to her beloved husband Larry, their love story began at Sunlight Pool. Together, they raised two sons, Michael and Matthew, and welcomed three grandchildren, Kelsey, Madison, and Ty, along with two great-grandchildren, Emerson and Lucas. Penny relished every moment spent with her grandchildren, whether shopping, visiting museums, or enjoying outings at the zoo. Her warm presence brought joy and laughter to their lives, creating cherished memories that will be held close in their hearts.
Penny dedicated over 14 years of her life to the education of children with special needs at Cincinnati Public Schools. Her love for teaching extended beyond the classroom, as she also shared her wisdom and compassion while instructing Sunday School at her beloved local church. Throughout her life, Penny remained an active member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, contributing to various ministries and serving on the church board, where her nurturing spirit brightened the lives of countless families.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Penny took great joy in volunteering with the School Board of North College Hill and Mt. Healthy Historical Society. Her commitment to her community was unwavering, demonstrating her belief in fostering connections and preserving local history.
An avid traveler, Penny loved to cruise, experiencing the wonders of Alaska, Hawaii, New England, the Bahamas, and the Panama Canal, taking in the world’s beauty with Larry by her side. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including her fondness for dark chocolate and evenings spent watching game shows.
Penny’s legacy will endure in the hearts of those she loved. She is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Huber; her sons, Michael (Melissa) and Matthew Huber; her bonus daughter, Shelly, and grandchildren; as well as her great-grandchildren.
Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret Stout.
