Prentice L. Spears passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2026, following medical complications.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Wanda Lee (Meece) Spears, his father Earl D. Spears, his mother Ruthie Mae Spears, his brothers: William Hershel, Travis Denzel, James Garfield, Doie Ray, and his sisters: Betty Joe, Wanda Sue, as well as his grandson Bryan Micheal Morrett and nephew Michael Lee Spears.

He leaves behind three children: Kimberly Kay Fetters (Jeffrey), Karyn Lynnette (John), and Russell Lee, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one on the way, two brothers and two sisters, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Prentice was a hardworking and devoted Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He loved and cared deeply for his family, and did everything in his ability for those whom he loved. He lived a full, loving, and happy life.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Neidhard Young Funeral Home, 7401 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Immediately following the funeral service, a graveside service will take place at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
