A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
Rene M. Sterchi, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, neighbor, and a co-worker, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023, at the age of 78. Born on October 31, 1945, in Switzerland, Rene later moved to the United States and became a cherished member of the Cincinnati community.
Rene’s dedication to his craft led him to a successful career as a machinist in the manufacturing industry. His skills and expertise were recognized and respected by his colleagues and peers who he valued as friends and extended family.
Outside of work, Rene had a deep passion for his family and cherished the role of being a father and grandfather. He took great joy in being actively involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren. Rene’s love for his family knew no bounds, and he made wonderful memories with them throughout the years.
In his spare time, Rene enjoyed immersing himself in the sounds of German music and eagerly participated in local German Festivals. He had an immense love for soccer, passionately rooting for his favorite teams. Rene’s enthusiasm for life was infectious, and he lived each day with a zest that inspired those around him.
Rene Sterchi will forever be remembered by his adoring son Paul (Madeline) Sterchi and loving son Phillip (Emily) Sterchi. He will live on in the hearts of his grandchildren, Logan (Megan), Brady (Abigail), Isabella, Austin, Jimmy, and Wyatt Sterchi, who brought immeasurable joy and happiness to his life.
Rene was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Sterchi, sons John and Peter, sister Bernadette (Angelo), his aunt Helene, and his mother Claire along with an untold number of family members.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Rene during the funeral services and ceremonies. Visitation will take place at Corpus Christi Catholic Church on December 2, 2023, starting at 10:00 am. A Mass, celebrating Rene’s life, will be held at the same venue at 11:00 am on the same day.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, a phenomenal organization.
In this time of grief, may we find solace in the memories we shared with Rene Sterchi. His presence will forever be missed, but his love and the impression he left on our lives will remain eternally.
