A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that we celebrate the life of Richard Louis Bohnert, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who rode off into the sunset on May 8, 2025, at the age of 67. Rick was born on October 24, 1957, in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he spent his life creating memories and building relationships that would last a lifetime.
Rick was a laborer in the construction industry. He poured his heart into his work, just as he poured his heart into everything he loved, particularly his family. He was married to his beloved Lori for 15 wonderful years, although their journey together spanned an incredible 32 years filled with love and laughter.
An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Rick found joy in riding, working on, and shining his bikes. He cherished the freedom of the open road, embarking on memorable trips from Cincinnati to Key West, Florida, where each mile travel became a story shared with those he loved. His adventurous spirit and zest for life energized everyone around him.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Lori; his daughters, Gail (JR) Jones and Patricia Hooks; his sons, Kyle (Katie Foster) Bohnert, Steven (Stephanie) Jacobs Jr., and Jesse Jacobs; and his cherished grandchildren, Alaina Jones, Aleesa Parker, Kaylee Allen, Taylor Hooks, and Steven Jacobs III. His siblings, Kathleen Scholl, and Ronald (Missy) Bohnert, as well as his two niece, Heather Scholl and Gabriella Bohnert, and his nephew Wessley Bohnert. His legacy of love will continue to shine through each of them.
Rick may have left this world, but his spirit will forever ride alongside us, leading the way with a smile and the sound of revving engines. Ride free, Rick – you will always be in our hearts.
