Richard Thomas Hoops

Richard Thomas Hoops, of Cincinnati, OH, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on July 29, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on May 2, 1944, in Cincinnati, Richard leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his family and his passions.

Richard was a dedicated HVAC/Mechanical Designer, working with passion and skill in his industry for years. His love for old cars, antiquing, and comic books shone through in his vibrant personality, as did his adoration for all types of music, with doo-wop holding a special place in his heart.

In his 58 years of marriage to his beloved wife Mary Ann, Richard found joy, companionship, and unwavering support. Together, they raised two sons, Brian and Rick, who were the light of his life.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mary Hoops (nee Hackworth).

Richard’s memory and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. A loving husband and father, Richard Hoops will be deeply missed.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Richard’s life will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 1:00 pm. He will be laid to rest in the Garden of Acacia. May his memory be a blessing.
