A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
In loving memory of Richard Thomas Jarnot (July 12, 1945 – January 6, 2024), it is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Richard Thomas Jarnot, lovingly known as Ritchie, on January 6, 2024, in Fort Lupton, Colorado. Ritchie’s departure marks a bittersweet reunion with his late wife, Marcella Gonzales Jarnot, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Surrounded by love, Richard peacefully transitioned into eternal peace with his three devoted children: Jennifer (Ryan Martin) Jarnot, Julie (Han Soto) Nguyen, and David (Melissa ) Jarnot, by his side. He held a special place in his heart for his seven adoring grandchildren: Marcel, Reese, Braxton, Quinn, Leo, Finley, and Reid. Survived by his loving sister, Dorothy Bowe.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents Frank J Jarnot, Stephania (Nogowski) Jarnot.
Ritchie cherished his family, loved dancing, listening to classic rock and riding his motorcycle. Above all else, his love for those he worked with at Jarnot Optical knew no bounds. Richard’s warmth, generosity, and infectious smile touched the lives of many.
Richard Thomas Jarnot will be remembered for his kind, generous, and sweet (and sometimes stubborn) nature. We will forever feel Richard in a gorgeous sunset, as we walk in nature, when we hear a revved up motorcycle engine, watch a Buffalo Bills game, hear Fleetwood Mac, and when we dance.
Funeral Honors and private gravesite burial service will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are invited to join us at Snow’s Lakeside Tavern from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm for a celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice or just a random act of kindness, or dance a little dance, in honor of Ritchie.
