A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Edward Wilcox Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world on February 12, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on December 20, 1960, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Robert led a life full of passion, purpose, and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Robert was a devoted family man, cherishing every moment spent with his beloved wife, Tammy, their three children, Mitch (Susie), Joshua (Bre), and Hope, and their three grandchildren Zachary, Cole, and Evan.
He found great joy in sharing moments together with his family, big and small. He loved to cook, perfecting his own recipes over the years like his homemade pasta sauce, Thanksgiving stuffing, and chili. His laughter was the soundtrack of family gatherings, giving warmth and joy to every occasion.
He was a student of life, always eager to learn and share his passions, which included gardening, drawing, sports, astronomy and stargazing, and whatever was next on his endless list of projects. He was not just a handyman with a knack for fixing things. He was a loving caretaker and selfless resource for his family and friends, which dates back to his time as his father’s “right arm” growing up on the Wilcox family farm.
An electrician in his early career, he later served proudly as a building inspector for Clermont County and the National Inspection Corporation, where he was dual certified in building and electrical inspections — one of the few to earn this designation. His commitment to excellence made him one of the most respected and desired inspectors across Southwest Ohio. His work spoke volumes and he took immense pride in making the Cincinnati area a safer place for its residents, ensuring that every structure met the highest standards.
Robert is also survived by his siblings, Jerry (the late Charles) Ottaway, Bruce (Joanie Kay) Wilcox, and Vicki (the late Donald) Huff. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Robert E. Wilcox Sr. and Betty Mae (nee Kent) Wilcox, and his sisters Judy (the late Ronald) Knapke and Joan (the late Frank) Litschgi.
Funeral services for Robert will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 (follow the blue line upon entering the memorial park) at 1:30 PM. Family and friends are invited to come together to remember and honor Robert.
In this time of sorrow, let us remember a man who exemplified love, compassion, and dedication — to his family, to his work, and to the wonders of the world around him. Robert Edward Wilcox Jr. will be dearly missed, but his spirit will forever shine in the hearts of those he loved.

“Dear Uncle Bobby, I remember running around the farm as a kid and the fireworks on July 4th with all the cousins. You were a pretty good softball player too, if I remember. You were always at the grill, flipping burgers and ready to celebrate. Thank you for the memories, and all our love to Tammy, Mitch, Josh and Hope. Love, Nancy (Michael with Alex and Emily)”
