Robert “Bobby” Lester Thompson, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at the age of 93. He was born on December 30, 1932, in Bracken County, Kentucky.
Robert lived a life defined by his passion for bowling. He was known for his remarkable talent on the lanes, achieving the coveted perfect game of 300 multiple times. Bowling was not just a hobby for Robert; it was also his career as he spent many years working in a bowling ball supply store as a bowling ball driller.
Robert proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. His service to his country was a source of pride for him.
Robert had a wonderful sense of humor that brought joy to those lucky enough to know him, even as he often kept to himself.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Virginia (nee Meyer) Thompson, and brothers, Mel Thompson, Gordon Thompson, and Ronnie Thompson.
Robert is survived by his sister, Janet Bergen, and brother-in-law, James R. Bergen Sr.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
