Sandra Margaret Helfrey

Sandra “Sandy” Helfrey, 89, of Cincinnati, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Western Hills Retirement Village.

She was born on August 10, 1936, to the late Robert and Ida Belle (Mosier) Plasters. Sandy dedicated her career to retail merchandising, working for Rink’s Department Store and Kmart.

She found joy in the simple beauty of life, whether it was the song of birds at sunrise, the quiet rustle of leaves in the wind or the presence of animals great and small.  Her love for nature was not just something she enjoyed, but something she lived every day. 

She is survived by her son Michael Helfrey; sister, Sharon Streck, and her brother, Robert Plasters.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son Jerry Helfrey.

Private services will be held for the family.
