A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sherry Lynn Schneider, a beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend. Born on February 21,1973, in Cincinnati Ohio with bright red hair and green eyes. She passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, at home surrounded by family after battling Pancreatic Cancer. Throughout her life, Sherry exemplified compassion, caring, strength, and love.
Sherry dedicated over 30 years of her life to the healthcare industry as a caregiver, where she was known for her commitment to helping others during their most vulnerable moments. Her love for taking care of people showed by the gratitude she received from families and patients she cared for. Sherry left healthcare, began driving for a company transporting train engineers to their next stops. We received calls telling us about all the new places she drove to taking pictures along the way. You could hear the excitement in her voice that she was able to just go experience life.
At the heart of her many talents was a passion for art; she was especially known for her crafts and making lots of jewelry. Growing up she loved anything to do with art, including many trips to art museums and movies about artists. From her Junior High School years all through to college, Sherry was in the chorus. She even went to the Capital Building and White House in Washington D.C. during college. She marched in Aiken High Schools band in the percussion section traveling with the band on weekends.
Sherry loved going out to eat, trying new food items, hot tea, La Roses, ice cream, a good hamburger, chocolate, and cheese cake. Cooking and baking was something she enjoyed. She loved trying new spices and figuring out how to use them.
Having a love for all animals, during Covid she took in a cat (Pretty), that someone abandoned. Pretty became her whole world. She loved going shopping at new places and to festivals in the summer and fall. She had a love for fantasy and creative storytelling. She then could live her own life vicariously through the characters in different worlds. It was her own way of being free and who ever she wanted to be. She could join a conversation and always add to the topic. She shared everything about herself leaving no stone unturned. This caused laughter as she told her stories of school, camping, her childhood, and family trips. Sherry enjoyed listening to her favorite songs from the 80s and 90s and watching movies, mostly romantic comedies and time period movies with kings and queens. She loved the outdoors as long as it didn’t involve yardwork. She was a camp counselor at Camp William Butterworth teaching art and crafts, young girls to horseback ride, camping skills, swimming and canoeing.
Many family trips were at Indian Lake in Logan County, Ohio. For at least four generations, the family would go out there every summer. Sherry felt at peace there. Many weekends during summer were spent in a popup camper at a campsite cooking over the fire pit, fishing, and swimming in the lake. She especially enjoyed the family pizza parlor, ice-cream on the lake, and donuts in the morning. Many mornings were spent riding bicycles and horseback riding in the evenings.
Sherry Lynn Schneider will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace and dance in the heavens singing with her mom and dad. She had many struggles and barriers in life along with many health issues over the years finding ways to overcome most of them. Her health took a toll on her and now suffers no more. Please remember her always by her red hair, love of fairies, her love of her Irish heritage, roses, any anything purple. She would love it that way.
Sherry leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and laughter. She is survived by her sister, Christy Gildea (Kevin Gildea), her aunt Barbara Edwards (Jerry Edwards), and many cousins and friends.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, John and Delores Schneider, brother, Mark Allen Schneider, and many various aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

“Sherry was a special niece of mine. She was kind, considerate, and loving. She worked hard all of her life to be a part of something and above all, wanted peace and harmony in this life. I hope that she now has peace and finally feels free. She will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will miss her terribly. It was my honor to be her aunt. Sherry, until I see you again, I will think of you every day. I love you! Aunt Barb”
