A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
Shirley Mae Gurley of Cincinnati, passed away on Friday, January 3rd, 2025 at the age of 86. Shirley was born on September 19, 1938 to Bernard and Alvera (nee Schunk) Bedinghaus in Cincinnati, OH.
Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved dogs and pretty much had one all of her life. She enjoyed watching her favorite show NCIS, going to River Downs and going on trips with her senior group. Getting one cheese coney and a Coke from Skyline made her day.
Shirley worked at St. Bernard-Elmwood Place schools as a school bus driver, Door to Door driver and a Dial-A-Ride driver. She enjoyed the Dial-A-Ride the most because she was able to see many friends that resided in her community.
Shirley is survived by her loving children, Melody (Jonathan) Gregory, Matthew (Kelly) Gurley, and Andrew (Heidi) Gurley, grandchildren, Heather Gregory, Samantha (Arthur) Wallace, Sienna (Eric) Wright, Nathan (Lindsey) Gurley, Gabrielle Gurley, Liam Gurley, and Will Gurley, great-grandchildren, Mia Wallace, Mason Wallace, Weston Wallace, EJ Wright, and Violet Wright, brother, Paul Bedinghaus, as well as many other extended family members.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Gurley Sr., son, James Gurley Jr., brothers Bernard (Lucille) Bedinghaus Jr. and Terry (Betty) Bedinghaus, and sister-in-law Diane Bedinghaus.
Per Shirley’s request, private burial will take place at the Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231.
