Shirley Ruth Ooten

October 28, 1928 – November 30, 2022

Shirley Ruth Ooten

Shirley Ruth Ooten (nee Peppers) 94, died peacefully surrounded by family on November 30, 2022.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life of 72 years, Herschel Louis Ooten, Sr. They created a life together in Cincinnati, Ohio. Together they raised 5 children: Herschel Ooten Jr., Nancy Oppenheimer, Karen Sutton, Janice Ooten, and Margie Skinner. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her children and grandchildren were everything to her and she devoted her life to them. Shirley was very generous with her time and money. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Shirley was very loyal and loved by all. She loved to laugh and never missed a chance to tell a joke. If you would like to honor Shirley, give someone a call, and tell them you love them.

All are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.

The visitation will take place on Saturday December 10, 2022, at 11:30 AM at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home (follow the blue line upon entering the memorial park), with a funeral to follow at 1:00 PM. Afterwards, the burial will take place.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of Cincinnati https://hospiceofcincinnati.org/donate/. If you would like to send flowers, please send Christmas style flowers. That was her favorite holiday.

The family would like to thank all the doctors, aides and nurses that helped with her care.
